If you ever have the opportunity to visit Tarpon Springs, get a babysitter and head off to Zorbas for some great Greek food and wonderful entertainment. It felt as if we had left Florida and were transferred directly to the Greek Isles for the evening.

The entertainment begins around 9pm and runs most of the night after that. They had a fantastic band, the belly dancer, along with a couple of Greek crooners. Let's put it this way...I had never seen a belly dancer before (and honestly expected the worst). I was pleasantly surprised! Even though I didn't understand a word of what they said, it was pleasant and a great change of atmosphere.

The menu offers some true Greek delights. I enjoyed the Dolmades (stuffed grape leaves) and the boiled octopus was even very tasty (however, I unlike others, don't care for the tentacles).

Zorbas is located on Athens Street near the Sponge Docks in Tarpon Springs. If you are planning to overnight in Tarpon Springs (a very good idea if you are planning on taking all Zorbas has to offer), we had a great stay at Anclote Isles Marina. The rates are $1/foot and includes electrical (30 amp 110HZ & 250HZ), city water, cable TV and nice showers. Click here for more information.
