This blip on the chart is on your way out to the bay from the Gandy Bridge and just off
Old Port Tampa. It is a nice little place to stop on a cruise back from St. Pete.
Many people find it a great place to pitch a tent and spend the night.
Although very convenient and easy anchoring, the bottom is very rocky. Make sure to
wear some foot protection when trekking over to the island. The island is littered
with all sorts of debris as the island was constructed from dregging efforts in the bay.
If you are going to drop anchor, stay on the north west side of the island towards
the trees. For a little extra protection from the wind, drag your stern anchor over
the island. Don't worry, it is only about 15' wide.
